Soon everyone had taken their seats again, and Elrond spoke, “ Now we must decide the fate of this ring…the Ring cant be destroyed by any craft that we here posses. The Ring was made in the fires of Mount Doom. Only there can it be unmade. It must be taken deep into Mordor and cast back into the fiery chasm from whence it came” his words were powerful, but soon everyone heard the ring whisper something in the black tongue, Elrond then looked at everyone, “One of you must do this.”

“One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its black gates are guarded by more than just orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep. And the great Eye is ever watchful. it’s a barren wasteland. Riddled with fire ash and dust. The very air you breathe is a poisonous fume. Not with ten thousand men could you do this. It is folly!” Boromir spoke from his seat, looking out at every last person. Some seemed to squirm from the thought of that horrible waste land.

Legolas stood up quickly, once again staring at Boromir, “Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said? The Ring must be destroyed!”

Gimli jumped to his feet, “And I suppose you think you’re the one to do it?!”

Chaos was beginning, for Rose could feel that arguments were going to break out everywhere. She wanted to do something but thought it would be best to sit quietly. Her eye traveled to Boromir who rose from his seat, “And if we fail, what then?! What happens when Sauron takes back what is his?!”

“I will be dead before I see the Ring in the hands of an Elf!” Gimli had done it, everyone in the council was standing and yelling at each other, “Never trust an Elf!”

Both Rose and Frodo still sat, Frodo’s eyes intently on the Ring, causing fear to course through Rose’s veins, knowing all to well that he was in the snare of the Ring. Soon she heard her father yell sternly, much like he would do when she had done something wrong, “ Do you not understand that while we bicker amongst ourselves, Sauron’s power grows?! None can escape is! You’ll all be destroyed!” she watched as Gandalf seemed to single out Boromir.

Suddenly, Frodo jumped up, Rose shot a glance over at the Hobbit, her eyes grew large when he spoke, “I will take it!” and again he spoke louder, “I will take it!”

With Frodo’s statement the arguing died down. The members of the council slowly turned towards Frodo, all astonished. Rose could feel her father, she could feel some sadness and guilt, yet some pride.

“I will take the Ring to Mordor. Though- I do not know the way.” Frodo looked at the council and back at Rose.

Gandalf walked to Frodo, “I will help you bear this burden, Frodo Baggins, as long as it is yours to bear.” he places his hands reassuringly on Frodo’s shoulders.

Rose had a tear at the corner of her eyes, as she realized that he father was going on a quest that could easily end his life, and for Frodo, whom she had known for so long, he two, was heading for death.

Aragorn rose from his seat, “If by my life or death, I can protect you, I will.” he walked to Frodo, and knelt before him, “You have my sword.” he then stood up and stood next to the Hobbit.

“And you have my bow.” said Legolas as he joined them.

“And my axe!” Gimli looked grimly at Legolas as he walked to the group. This cause Legolas to look uncomfortable for a moment.

Rose couldn’t take it any more, she stood from her seat, looking at the strange glances of the fellow council members, “Frodo, long have I known you, and long have I been your friend, I shall protect you with my life.” she smiled at him, a loving smile, “you have what magic I can conjure.” she took her place amongst the others.

“You carry the fate of us all little one.” Boromir walked over to them, “If this is indeed the will of the council, then Gondor will see it done.”

“Heh!” the hobbit known as Samwise jumped out from behind the bushes to join them, “Mister Frodo is not goin’ anywhere without me!”

Somehow this amused Elrond, “No indeed, it is hardly possible to separate you even when he is summoned to a secret council and you are not.” But suddenly his facial expression changed as he saw Merry and Pippin, two other hobbits appear from behind two pillars!

“Wait! We are coming too!”

“You’d have to send us home tied up in a sack to stop us!” Merry said defiantly.

“Anyway you need people of intelligence on this sort of mission, quest…thing.” once again Pippin proved his intelligence.

“Well that rules you out Pip.” said Merry whose arms were crossed.

Elrond was about to speak but Aduial walked to them , “Frodo, long have I been with your people, and even in your Uncles house! So I suppose I should go with you! But” she looked out at the council, “They will have my magic and aid in my homeland, on one condition,” she looked over at Rose, who was smiling, the girls both stood together, “that we are never spoken of, in song and tale, for our deed is a secret one. And I wish only to get to my homeland.”

Elrond smiled at her, knowing how important Aduial would be , “I see nothing wrong with you going with the Ring…eleven companions…so be it! You shall be the Fellowship of the Ring!”

All stood in awe for a moment, balancing the fate of the world in their minds, and with one thing spoken in reassurance, “Great! Where are we going?” Pippin and made worry grow in the minds of the council
